Michael J Clark was born and raised in the county of Sussex.
He attended Eastbourne College of Art from 1953 to 1955, and spent his formative years studying the flora and fauna of the Sussex Downs. A later move to South Wales enabled him to extend his knowledge by observing the wildlife of the region.Increasingly recognised as one of the UK’s leading wildlife artists with his work now found as far afield as Europe, the USA and Japan.
He is also a winner of three national art competitions and the subject of a television profile.
